Built by Paragon Motor Yachts, the 92 foot Endless Summer is the third boat of this series and the third that Alcom Marine Electronics has commissioned. Built for International cruising, Endless Summer lives up to her name by combining performance and comfort while in search of that perfect sunset.

Paragon Motor Yachts built this semi custom yacht for a West Coast boater that wanted to cruise the US west coast, Mexico and beyond. While planning the electronics package the owner made it clear that he was not the ultimate hands on skipper and needed systems that where very user friendly and would provide safety and comfort to himself and his guests while at sea. Therefore we started with 4-large 17 inch Furuno LCD monitors to be the canvas for our helm design providing all the necessary information within the captains reach. The Furuno MU170C monitor is a big bright LCD display that is truly sunlight viewable and truly fits in a proper ships helm. Feeding information to these monitors we chose twin Furuno Navnet 1954cbb/nt black box 72 mile 12kw radars, that also provide chart plotting from the Cmap cartography and fish finding capabilities with the Furuno BBFF1 black box fish finder installed.

Twin Furuno GP37 DGPS/WASS receivers send all the navigation/ position data to the multiple systems, while providing the redundancy that is the mainstay of any good electronics system. Switching from the primary GPS to the secondary is performed by a simple throw of a switch and your up and running within seconds- no need to reconfigure multiple systems and settings.

A Nauticomp Columbus PC processor provides the main ships chart plotter running Nobeltec Admiral Software version 9. This onboard computer also provides the weather information provided by the WXWorx XM weather receiver and email capabilities provided by the Skymate 100 sentrymate. WiFi internet services are provided to the helm and guests by an onboard Syrens/Radio at Sea WiFi booster that easily locates and can connect you to the local network or marina networks.

Endless Summer has twin Simrad AP50 autopilot systems that provide the captain with security and redundancy and also provide heading data to the ships radars for using the ARP-11 target tracking and radar / chart plotter overlays. Both are fed route information from either the Navnet system or the Nobeltec computer, again by a simple one step throw of a switch. Target tracking is also provided by the Furuno FA-150 AIS system that receives data from other vessels and displays vessel names, speed, heading, destination and other important information on the Nobeltec plotter and Furuno radar screens. The FA-150 also sends Endless Summer’s information to other ships in the area for easy and reliable contact via the ships radio if need be.

Endless summer has twin Icom M602 VHF radios at the helm with a command remote mic at the aft cockpit that can be used as a quick intercom or for monitoring the radio while comfortably relaxing on the aft deck. The captain’s cabin also has its own separate Icom M502 VHF radio that can be used to monitor the traffic while performing tasks in the engine room or utility areas.

The yacht is also outfitted with a Seatel Wavecall 3000 satellite phone system which can provide data and internet connections when out of WiFi range. The satellite voice calls are routed to a Panasonic KXTAW848 PABX system that can also provide cell phone and shore phone connections to guests throughout the vessel. The Panasonic phone system can also be used to page throughout the stations or even answer the aft deck door bell when your gourmet meal or guests arrive.

Endless Summer also has the ability to monitor wind and static information thru the use of a B&G H1000 instrument package that feeds the data to your Navnet systems and also the remote Furuno RD30 displays located in the master cabin and captain’s cabin, where you can always check to see if the sea water temp is just right for that quick dip or the wind for the upper deck hot tub.

At the Flybridge helm we provided twin Furuno 1920c/nt 10.4 inch displays that provide all the information from the pilothouse that would be needed to safely and comfortably operate the yacht in favorable weather. Along with an autopilot second station control and VHF this is an easy to operate system with repeating controls that relieve the operator of having to learn different controls from upper and lower stations.

The yacht also has an Elbex CCTV system that provides security while in port or underway able to monitor the flybridge, aft deck and engine room. The cameras are able to be displayed on any TV display and or any of the helm monitors.

Finally at the owner’s request of not being out of TV range a Seatel Coastal 30 gyro stabilized Sat TV system was installed that will provide guests with TV programming from multiple service providers from Canada (Bell ExpressVU), USA (DirecTV) or the Caribbean (DIRECTV Latin America) depending on where that endless summer may be. Endless Summer is Currently cruising the waters off Mexico and returning to Southern California in June, if you see her along the way stop by and say hello, hola, or even aloha.
